Dear Readers:

Dixie is a young naive girl who wants what every young girl wants – to be popular and happy. Hanging out with Heather and Tammy – the most popular girls in school – certainly is the ticket that Dixie wants to a better, happier life. Every weekend she is thrust into the world of shopping at the mall, pizza parties and more. She is no longer a loner who sits in the corner by herself. She’s out there – she’s doing it – she’s happy. Right? What better life could there be?

Of course, as all mothers know, with great fun comes great responsibility. And the consequences of a young girl walking into an unknown world that has far less moral values than her own, grow large.

One night, Dixie sneaks out with her ultra-cool friends to see a band. Enter Vince Evans. Of course, he catches her eye. He is the lead guitarist. He’s good-looking, mysterious – a true fantasy for any young girl. For him, Dixie abandons her friends, forgets the slightly calmer high school boys, and chalks everything in her life up to boredom – choosing instead to spend every minute with the first love of her life.

However, as her youth fades into the past, Vince Evans "nice-guy" façade disappears. His dangerous act on-stage becomes his real persona off-stage and, instantly, Vince Evans is the worst kind of human being.

I would recommend this book to young adults who REALLY need to see that love is, in fact, deaf, dumb and blind. I think I speak for all parents when I say that if every ‘bad-boy’ was The Fonz, then, and only then, would the world be right.

On the cover of the book, Jordan Sparks, the American Idol from last year, gives her thumbs up. This is definitely the age group that this book is made for and they should all give it a go.
