Nestled on the banks of the Nile River, King Akhenaten rules a powerful and wealthy empire. He is having a new city built and a festival is being held in its honor. His wife, Nefertiti, "The Perfect One" is loved and respected by the people.

The festival is about a week away. Anyone of importance in Egypt and neighboring countries will be in attendance to honor the new city. One serious problem stands in the way of everything being perfect. Queen Nefertiti is missing.

Rahotep is a solver of mysteries and a member of the Medjay police force in a neighboring city. He is called upon by King Akhenaten to find his Queen.

But there is one major catch. If he does not find her before the festival (about 9 days), he and his family will be put to death! It may make no difference as the closer he is to finding Queen Nefertiti the more enemies he makes in the palace. He must be on the right track, but will he find the Queen in time or will his new enemies thwart his efforts permanently?

Ever wondered about what life was like thousands of years ago in Egypt? It became evident Nick Drake had done extensive research in the way he captured the history, people, and customs of Egypt. His creative license produced an intriguing story mixed with fact and fiction.

Once you start reading Nefertiti you can’t stop turning the pages. It was a wonderfully refreshing read with edge of the seat suspense. The characters came alive, the setting vivid. You’ll be kept guessing until the very end.

Nefertiti is a gripping mystery, a great ticket to the past.
