Gillian McCormick, a make-up artist, witnesses the murder of the
star of her latest project by a disgruntled actor. Because the murderer
has mob connections Gillian decides to flee, instead of contacting the
police. Cora, her elderly friend and a former actress, convinces
Gillian to hide out on a singles cruise for nerds. Cora hires PI, Lex
Manchester, and his partner ,Dante, to protect Gillian. Cora helps
Gillian disguise herself as a Marilyn Monroe look- alike, and the two
bodyguards/PI's dress as nerds to blend in on the cruise.
Unfortunately, someone with bad intentions follows Gillian and her
friends on the cruise.
Nerds Like It Hot is an amusing, contemporary romance with quirky characters and several nice secondary romances. There are many chuckle-inducing moments throughout the book, and several of the characters warmed my heart. Gillian and Lex seemed made for each other and Dante and his nerdy girlfriend were a picture of "opposites attract". Reading Nerds Like It Hot is a great way to spend an afternoon.
