Logan is a werewolf living in the US. He’s out for a run in the woods one evening when he’s trapped in a painful trap that is only meant to catch werewolves. He can’t decide if he’s hallucinating when a female shape shifter rescues him. Female werewolves just don’t exist. However, this scared shifter is Rinna, who hails from a parallel dimension. She’s traveled through a portal to our world and the trap Logan is in was meant for her. She releases him and takes him back to her dimension to try to save his life.
Logan quickly realizes that Rinna is his soul mate. However, she’s unaware of how sexy she is and she is petrified of men. Not a great facet for your soul mate to have. Eventually, Rinna & Logan return to our dimension and try to stop the evil Falcone from taking over this dimension with his ugly scheme.
While I enjoyed getting to know Logan and Rinna, I found their story to be nice but unremarkable. There is so much hype about her "past" with Falcone that I was disappointed when the truth emerged. I did love the way Rinna grew into a better and more self assured person. Her spunkiness trying to protect Logan was so much fun to watch. This was a great read that I enjoyed from end to end. It just didn’t have any one feature to make it a standout.
Ms. York (who is Ruth Glick writing as Rebecca York) knows how to spin a great tale. This book held enough suspense to keep it moving and was able to put the reader on edge at various points. I think reading the first book in the series would have helped make more sense of this story sooner. I did catch on quickly to the time stream theory and Ms. York made the idea of multiple dimensions easy to understand. Overall, an enjoyable read.
