Nyx, a half-human, half-Drow private eye, takes on the case of missing and murdered werewolves from the pack alpha, Dmitri Beketov. It seems someone is kidnapping members of his pack, experimenting on them, and dumping their bodies. That person or persons, now, has Dmitri's son, and there is a need for haste in finding him and the others, because the werewolves will not leave while pack members are missing and the time of the full moon is approaching. With the aid of her fellow Night Trackers, Nyx sets out to find the missing werewolves and stop the person responsible.
No Werewolves Allowed is a thrilling urban fantasy with wonderful secondary characters and a nice romance. While romance is not the main focus of this book, there is a developing relationship between Nyx and Adam Brody, a police detective. The secondary characters are all very interesting, and I really would like to learn more about them, especially Ice, a shifter with attitude. Nyx is a strong, kick-ass heroine, who is the leader of a team of equally strong paranormal beings. This makes for an, at times, contentious dynamic, but somehow they make it work and develop into a strong team. Hopefully, there will be many more books about this group, because No Werewolves Allowed gripped me from the beginning and took me on a exciting ride through an enjoyable, paranormal world.
