Corinne D’Alessandro has just been given an assignment by her editor to investigate strange sightings happening in Manhattan. He claims that there have been sightings of elves in the area and he wants Corinne to be the first with the story. Corinne cannot believe her bad luck. Just recently she was let in on the fact that there is a whole "other" community living amongst normal humans. Creatures like vampires, werewolves and elves really do exist and two of her best friends just happen to be married to them. She took a vow to keep their existence secret and now her boss wants her to expose them to the world. Things are about to get worse for Corinne though when her story leads her to a very sexy man pursuing the same leads.

Luc is captain of the Fae Queen’s Guard and has been assigned to go find her runaway nephew. Her nephew loves to cause trouble and never thinks of the ramifications of exposing their kind to humans. Luc goes to a friend in the "Other" community and finds an unlikely ally in meeting Corinne. Luc knows he’ll have his hands full with the sassy reporter but they must keep their focus on finding the Queen’s nephew and not on their budding romance. As the two start unraveling the mystery of the runaway nephew, more sinister characters come into play that could turn this faerie tale into a horror-filled tale.

Ms. Warren’s series of The Others is simply genius. I love her take on the faerie tale characters and the modern twist she gives them. The dynamic between Corinne and Luc is electric right from their first meeting. Clearly she is not impressed with him or who he claims to be and is only concerned about keeping her friends’ names out of the media. Luc of course tries not to be swayed by the fiery reporter but both quickly learn love won’t take no for an answer. The quest to find the Queen’s nephew has many twists and turns and gives readers a great surprise when Ms. Warren reveals the ending.
