One Grave Too Many is one of the best mystery/crime solvers I've ever read.
Diane Fallon is now head of a museum, leaving behind her former career as a forensics investigator. She comes out of her retirement so-to-speak when a friend and former love, Frank Duncan asks for her help to solve a multiple murder of family members after a human bone is discovered by them during a hunting trip.
Diane is hesitant to help due to nightmares after her daughter is killed in South America by a drug lord. Diane had found evidence to put Santos, the drug lord, away while excavating mass murder graves and providing evidence he was responsible for the murders, though he got off by killing most everyone who could testify against him. It's with reluctance that she helps with this new case.
Beverly Connor keeps the reader guessing all the way through until the guilty person is disclosed in the final couple of pages. The story line was easy to follow and made it almost impossible to put the book down. Just when you think you know who did it, a new twist of events gives you cause to re-evaluate the whole crime.
I liked the book very much, not just because it way easy to follow, but also because I felt like I was there, living out the story as if I were one of the characters trying to solve the murders. Beverly provides edge of the seat entertainment!
