Dorcas & Ambrose have are sex therapists for witches and warlocks. However, a little "oops" in a session has them in hot water with the Grand High Wizard. He banishes them to Big Knob, Indiana, with a population of 947 and demands that they get the mysterious George in line. Nobody has been successful at reaching George, but they must try. If they don’t get him in line, they can’t ever leave Big Knob.

Banished doesn’t mean they can’t continue working. They just have to work with mortals instead of witches and wizards. Good thing Sean Madigan is looking for a change in life. He’s sort of the town god and he’s tired of being a sex object to lusty women. Dorcas & Ambrose take away his sex appeal and then force an introduction with his soul mate. If he wants her, he’ll have to learn more about who he really is since his sex appeal is currently missing. Maggie Grady is the soul mate for Sean who isn’t interested in men. She’s busy trying to save her job and her career and she’s going to buy the property that Sean is feverishly looking to purchase and restore. Only she won’t restore it, she’ll raze it.

This romance is a quirky story with a lot of laughter mixed in. Dorcas and Ambrose are wonderful characters reminding me of all the unusual characters I have seen when traveling to other places. They have strange clothing, strange habits and totally unorthodox methods. Sean’s transformation from stud to dud is hysterical. I was laughing like crazy as he has to deal without the attention he is so used to getting from women. Maggie meets him after transformation, so she can’t understand his sex appeal in town. She figures they are desperate since the man-pool is small in a little town.

I loved the way Sean & Maggie fight each other and their attraction for each other. She is determined to ignore the guy and save her career. He wants to railroad her career long enough to get her. As they fight each other, you’ll be giggling at their antics.

It’s a nice opener book for the series. I found a little of the information about Dorcas and Ambrose came later in the book than I would have liked. It does set up the series for the reader; I just prefer this type of information earlier instead of later. I had trouble figuring out their reasoning for doing what they were doing at first. However, it dovetails together well and I understood absolutely everything at the end.

Vicki Lewis Thompson has created another romance blended with humor to make you beg for more. Be looking for the next book in the series, Wild and Hexy, coming Spring 2008.
