A Parfait Murder is the 3rd installment of an ice cream lovers series. Sonny Anders, Bree Ander's ex and Alice's daddy, after being absent from their lives for 17 years is seen strolling up the midway at the Lantana County Fair. Along with Sonny is his new new ladyfriend, Char. Char is puzzling individual, dressed up like a lady to the manor born but, lwith a walk that would liken her to a model on a runway. The two are back in Dalliance, Texas touting a sweet deal for the business people of the town. But first and foremost, Sonny's lawyer, Kristen Ver Steeg has served papers on Bree that challenge Bree's statements that Sonny is Alice's father. And then, the fun begins. Kristen turns up dead with Bree standing over her holding the gun that did the deed.
Meanwhile Bree's cousin Tallulah Jones, Tally to her friends and the owner of Dalliance's ice cream shop Remember the Ala-Mode has begun to date her childhood sweetheart Finn Harper. Finn left after high school to re-appear within the last year "looking every bit as delicious as a double-dip raspberry mascarpone waffle cone". Riding through the Haunted House brings them closer together and then a ferris wheel ride makes it even closer.
Things are not what they seem in this tale and, it's up to Tally and Finn to investigate and get to the source of Sonny's coming home after all this time and why did Kristen meet her demise. A fun and interesting family drama that will be a lot of laughs. Also, they will have to hurry and get to the answers before Bree finds herself frying for murder.
A terrific beach read, and get yourself some ice cream to boot. So, enjoy and I'll talk to you soon.
