A sweet cozy, written by Janice Hanna who is the author of many books. Some were written under the name Janice Thompson. Take it from me, they are really worth reading.
Annie and Warren Peterson are just leaving for church in their little town of Clarksborough, PA when they hear sirens announcing an emergency. As they are driving, they spot a business on fire on the main street. It is the local dating service called, The Perfect Match. After checking on both their children, son, Devin calls his parents and reports that he is OK and their daughter's family is also alright. So, they continue on to church. It is decided by the authorities, that the fire was set deliberately and the search is on for the culprit or culprits. Annie, who is an amateur sleuth, despite the fact that her husband wants her to butt out, goes forth with her friend, Sheila to find the arsonist. There are plentiful suspects; Opal the owner of the business who is strapped for cash; also, a very disagreeable newspaper editor who made a "match" with the business and is sorry for it and rues the day that he decided to wed; a very dissatisfied customer who has never found a mate and a sheriff's investigator with an unusual past. Annie and Sheila try to find the arsonist before there is another conflagration and she is also trying to help her son Devin find his perfect match.
This book is cute, funny and readers will probably find someone they recognize. I know that I did. So, enjoy, and I'll talk to you soon.
