A chance encounter throws Aimee Black and Nicolo Barbieri together. Their one night was passionate and unforgettable. Yet Aimee disappears into the wee hours of the morning leaving nothing behind but memories.
Month’s later Aimee and Nicolo are summoned to meet with James Black, Aimee’s grandfather and chairman of SCB bank---they both want to own and run SCB. Aimee wanted her grandfather to turn the reins over to her, to trust her even though she had the misfortune of being born a girl. Nicolo was in a position of purchasing the bank from the old goat, and owning the SCB bank would fairly complete his empire.
The sale would go through, however it comes with the stipulation that Aimee and Nicolo marry and they both run the bank. Out of the question!
Until the discovery of Aimee being pregnant from their one night spurs Nicolo to do what he does best. Take charge. He informs her they will be married on his terms. He refuses to compromise on any matter. Obviously there’s little to hold the two together for the long haul. It’s quite possible his arrogance and high-handedness will be their downfall before they even have a chance at happiness as a couple.
I had mixed feelings about the characters. Nicolo was extremely arrogant and had quite the ego, but then after a while he became a dream hero; sadly though, there was little time to explore that side of him. Aimee gained my sympathy. It seemed being raised by her grandfather left her with much to prove and overcome.
As usual, Sandra Marton packs a roller coaster of emotions within a category length story. The Italian Prince’s Pregnant Bride will give Presents readers hours of enjoyable reading time.
