Dear Readers:

This lovely novel centers round a young woman by the name of Lauren Holbrook. Among her many talents, is that she absolutely – for certain – KNOWS when two people are meant to be together. Some may call her a busybody but, by the end of this story, you will surely see her as a creative and well-beloved matchmaker. As with all special talents in life, however, we soon find out that it is much easier for Lauren to find the perfect match for her friends and nearly impossible to find it for herself.

Lauren believes that God matched couples before their lives began, and all they need is to be introduced to one another (perhaps over a large coffee or a platter of delicious brownies). Lauren, the undercover Cupid, uses her gift to connect all her clueless friends into lifelong relationships of love and respect. Brandon and Hannah (two wonderfully funny characters) are the next unsuspecting couple that Lauren sets her sights on. She knows they’re perfect for each other but they just don’t realize it yet.

Even with all the joyful banter between her friends and her father – who was my absolute favorite character, by the way – the really great storyline has to do with Lauren turning to her best friend Ryan for help and camaraderie. You find yourself cheering for the two of them; hoping that with each turn of the page Lauren will "wake up" and see what a fantastic specimen is standing right in front of her.

Her dad goes on a ‘singles retreat’ to find love, which is truly one of the funniest parts of this book. It made my heart feel good watching a group of family and friends support one another and feel fear for one another as their lives move forward into undiscovered territory. After reading about Lauren, I am truly jealous for the life of blessings she’s been given. But, even more important, I found myself liking Lauren because SHE understood the blessings of her life – even at five o’clock in the morning driving to the airport.

Enjoy this lovely tale with a large cup of coffee…Lauren’s favorite.

Amy
