Mikayla Martin is helping women make their dreams come true with the wedding gowns she designs for them. She is incredibly talented and loves what he does. Each bride, though, reminds her that she wants her own Prince Charming to come. Her normal every day life takes a major detour when she goes to pick her brother only to be a witness to a murder. Itís compounded by the fact that she knows the killer. The police donít believe her because Maddix is quite respected in the community AND he was at a meeting with several important people who are vouching for him.
Maddix does the unthinkableóhe hires an Elite Ops Agent to solve the case. Nikolai Steele, code name Renegade, lives up to his name in every possible way. He tries not to get involved in this case but quickly finds himself drawn in when Mikayla is threatened.
This book included so many great things that I really wanted to be more deeply drawn in. The action is fast paced and the timeline well done. The characters are where I struggled just a bit. Mikayla is a virgin and I was surprised by how quick she gave that up to a man who was relative new in her life. He also seemed just a bit domineering. The storyline was well constructed but had just a bit of difficulty following who the murder became. I donít want to give anything away though.
All in all, it is a good book to spend some time on and I enjoyed it. I donít think any reader will be disappointed with their purchase but it wonít be your favorite Lora Leigh book.
