Daisy is burning the candle at both ends and in the middle, too. She’s working multiple jobs, writing her dissertation and (temporarily) caring for her fourteen year-old brother, Kevin. The last thing she needs is the added pressure of a relationship, no matter what type of package they come in.
Okay, before you ask, I’ll tell you; Steve Crow is one of those packages. A nicely muscled bundle of yumminess. But he’s her boss, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to get involved with him. The powers that be have other ideas, though.
Steve has become a borderline nervous wreck in the short time Daisy has been in his life. She’s an offbeat (substitute) traffic reporter for his station, WZZZ, who ‘thwarts’ more than one crime and consequently puts her life in danger.
She needs protection. From herself and the bad guys. Daisy’s choice of bodyguard? Elsie. A denture-sucking, steel-hipped, armed old(er) lady.
Life has never been more wild or complicated than it is at the moment and Steve loves (most of the time) every minute of it. Daisy on the other hand is a mess of uncertainty.
Daisy and Steve’s road to romance is definitely ‘rocky.’
What can one reader tell another about this story…? Well, Daisy is endearing. Steve is romantic. Elsie and Kevin are, um, enthusiastic about the events happening in quick-fire succession. It’s a laugh out loud, action-filled romance that will make you sigh and smile.
Nothing more to add except this one’s a keeper.
Happy reading,
Connie
