Rosemary Addison as the "Incomparable" of the London Season has her choice of marriage proposals but she is interested in only one, Lord Beverly. Rosemary was sure he was going to ask for her hand during last season so she can’t understand his reluctance.
In order to prod Lord Beverly along, Rosemary has come up with a plan that is sure to move him in the direction she has dreamed about. All she has to do is convince her childhood friend, Broderick Loren, to become engaged to be married. Rosemary knows this is what it will take for Lord Beverly to come calling.
Broderick has accepted Rosemary’s hair-brained scheme, only to help his dear friend, not because he thinks it will work. Broderick has become quite fond of Rosemary and at one point finds a glove that she has miss-placed and decides to carry it with him near his heart.
Rosemary is struggling to understand why Lord Beverly has not come around. Weeks and weeks go by and she doesn’t know what to do. Her feelings are all mixed up, as she is realizing what kind of man Broderick has become. The kind of man that she thought Lord Beverly was, the kind of man that any girl would be proud to call her husband. But alas, she saw a glove fall out of Broderick’s pocket so he must have feelings for another. But who?
Will Rosemary give up her quest for Lord Beverly and admit her love for Broderick? Will Broderick believe his love for Rosemary will be enough for her? Will Broderick finally give back Rosemary’s glove?
Rosemary’s Glove is a tender story that will touch the heart. Shirley Raye Redmond has a way of writing that keeps the reader engaged. The characters are likeable with human emotion. I enjoyed the "language" used, the phrases of the time, as you could just hear the old English along with the accent.
Rosemary’s Glove lets the reader enjoy another time, another place – if only for a short time. Take the time, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!
