Dear Readers:

The Sandalwood Tree is one of the most interesting stories to appear on the market in a long time. Delving into all aspects of love and history, this amazing author offers a mystery regarding two love stories, ninety years apart, set against the backdrop of war-torn India.

American anthropologist, Martin Mitchell, has won an award - a scholarship to study abroad in India. Traveling with his wife Evie, and their son, Martin Mitchell ends up having to move into a small village, trying his best to ‘hide’ from Britain’s imminent departure from India. The British must leave India, as the British Raj empire has been "faced down" by Gandhi - allowing Pakistan to be born.

Evie, standing in the new house attempting to stay away from the violence, finds a packet of old letters hidden behind a brick wall in their small, colonial bungalow. When Evie unveils the letters that focus on a very compelling and strange story of love and war that two Englishwomen have written about in 1857, Evie begins to follow an odd path that has been left behind.

As Evie delves into the past, she decides to go on a mission to uncover the truth behind the odd letters. As she is led through bazaars and temples - Evie delves head-first into the dying society of the British Raj. Secrets become uncovered which literally put a strain on Evie and her beloved husband‘s relationship, while she tries her best to understand the betrayal, forgiveness, and love that the Englishwomen explore in their letters.

This amazing, inspiring story is a "must-read" for fans, and the plot is so interesting that no reader will be able to put the book down until the very end. This enchanting story tells all about the love, pain, and fight for independence from the British Raj, and the enlightening historic details are truly mesmerizing.

A wonderful story that all readers will fall absolutely in love with! Enjoy!

Until next time,
Amy
