Rosalie Winters is on holiday. Attempting to rekindle her desire to paint, she sets her easel up on the beach and tries to capture the beauty surrounding her. But "something" is missing. Until he approaches on horseback across the sand.

Arik Kareem Ben Hassan has been watching her paint for some time from his castle atop the hill. Once he gets his "plaster" taken off his leg he plans to remedy his desires and fantasies about this woman and turn them to reality. However, after meeting her, he realizes she’s not like his other mistresses and won’t succumb to him easily. Using her desire to paint he makes a proposition; the subject of himself and his horse for her artistic pleasure in the mornings, she keeps him company in the afternoons.

Though drawn to him, she knows to get too close would mean to get hurt as it’s obvious he’s not the type of man looking for a permanent relationship. Yet painting, while it had lain dormant inside her, is in Rosalie’s blood. So it’s with some reluctance and trepidation, that Rosalie Winters agrees to Arik’s bargain.

When their relationship takes a turn, Rosalie runs scared. She’s struggling to reclaim her independence and sense of self after being brutally hurt in the past. Being in Arik’s bed, while wonderful, wouldn’t give any of that back to her as that’s strictly where his interests lie. Or is it?

Arik is intense and passionate yet kind, but it aggravated me that he desired Rosalie for her looks and body for much of the book. Rosalie is emotionally wounded and scared, yet desirous of love. She was someone to empathize with. Their characteristics blend and make them a good match.

The writing was tight; the story was kept moving along with no head hopping. The prose was a bit flowery yet sensual at the same time. An unusual mix that seems to work for Ms. West.

For the Sheikh’s Pleasure is another passionate story from Ms. West. She delivers everything the Presents reader has come to expect from their titles.
