Shala Winters has been hired by the city of Precious, Texas to help bring in tourism to this small, dying town. Unfortunately, somebody doesnít want her hereÖand theyíre willing to kill her to prove it.
Sky Gomez is the lawman of Precious and itís his job to keep her safe and out of trouble. But when she breaks cardinal rules of his tribeís pow-wows on her first day in town, he confiscates her camera to keep her safe. It doesnít matter that she has the cutest backside of any woman heís seen lately, he also doesnít believe the crap his foster father is spreading around town that Shala is Skyís soul mate. Sky isnít sure if the spirits talking to his foster father are real or convenient excuses from an old man wanting his son settled down.
When bullets start flying and dead bodies start appearing, it becomes clear that heís got to work hard at his job to ensure the safety of his town---and Shalaís safety, too. With Shala and Sky so focused on her safety, will they drop the safeguards from around their hearts? Will true love be allowed to bloom, or will it be another conquest for the king of love-em and leave-em?
Wow, wow, wow! Christie Craig has hit an out of the park homerun with this one! I loved this story from start to finish and couldnít put it down. Shala is truly all that and a bag of chips. Sheís sexy, talented, smart and witty as can be. Her sense of humor lines up with mine so when she decides to zing you with a comment, youíll know youíve just been zinged.
Sky is a lean, mean, small town cop and a crime-fighting machine. While he respects the old ways of his people, he doesnít totally believe everything about the spirits. He left the big city behind to return home and be closer to his foster family. With his dad spouting off around town that Shala is his soul mate, he canít get a momentís peace anywhere. Then the bullets start flying and things donít ever look like they will calm down.
Donít forget a naked man using douche in a bathtub, a man in a pink fuzzy robe and mustard on a penis and youíve found a town youíll never forget. Hilarious hi-jinx, steamy sex and a bit of a mystery thrown in for good measure. Canít wait to see what Christie Craig dreams up next.
