I really loved this cozy. It's a good way to dream about the donuts that I love and read a delicious book in the process.
Suzanne Hart is the proprietor of a Donut shop called Donut Hearts in the small town of April Springs, North Carolina. We are about to attend the Winter Festival on the snow covered streets of the town when there is a commotion in the street and it is found that one of April Springs' citizens has been murdered in front of the City Hall. It turns out that the victim is the ex-girlfriend of Suzanne's ex-husband.
I know that this sounds very confusing but, it gets better. The townspeople who found the body thought it was someone else at the beginning but discovered that the victim was wearing another woman's clothing and a wig, which made this attack more mysterious. Now, of course, Suzanne's ex, Max is suspected of the murder and Suzanne is trying to help him investigate the murder and clear his name.
This is very light reading but, a lot of fun. The characters are interesting and, of course, the donut recipes make you wish you had a plate full in your lap as you were reading. Suzanne's relationships with her helper, Emma, along with the ex-husband who is trying to get her back and, a new guy who is also interested in her, keep her hopping trying to help everyone and still make donuts. So, enjoy, and I'll talk to you soon.
