Claire Doolittle is no longer finding wedded bliss with her husband Jack. In fact, she now mentally refers to him as Ward Cleaver because this once fun man has become a stick-in-the-mud, domineering man. Claire is no longer the sexy woman who would have sex in an elevator—she’s now relegated to dreading the "Sunday night encounter" that isn’t fun or sexy. It’s actually a chore.
Now when the ex-fiancé emails and starts hinting at the fun, sexy girl she was, Claire begins to wonder what happened to her life and herself. Then when she finds out Jack’s new assistant is sexy and giving him the eye, she’s green with envy. What’s a girl to do? How about following Jack and Ms. Sex-Kitten Assistant to Florida to spy on them at a supposed ‘work weekend.’
When Mr. Ex-Fiancé shows up in the middle of all of this, you have bedlam at its best.
A comedic look at romance in a marriage over time and how we can age gracefully or just age. The witty banter and comebacks remind me of The Devil Wears Prada. I found myself giggling at Claire’s overactive imagination and how she dreams of revenging herself. The interesting turn of events at the end will keep you in stitches and cheering for "Ward" to return to his former "Jack" self and recapture Claire’s heart. It’s a big job, but surely Ward Cleaver can try.
