Slip & Fall is a good work and it’s worth the effort to stick with it through the first few pages. That isn’t difficult unless you start with the prologue. This book is about a man and his struggle for integrity among a sewer full of villains, and the prologue accurately foreshadows the kind of violence you will see in the book; detailed, personal and very bloody. People’s misfortune and legal remedy are targeted for exploitation and the impact is unforgettable.

This is difficult subject matter, to expose what happens inside a crime family where people who "can’t pay" suffer greatly. Written in a "wise-guys" style, the hero (Robert Principe) is a self made attorney, truly trying to make a difference in the world, to make his father proud of him. Robert faces incredible pressure to compromise himself from the community, his family heritage and his own pressures at home.

This is also a story about redemption, about a man taking a stand, about courage in the face of unspeakable dread. Slip and Fall is a brutal, personal journey of one man and the consequences of one bad decision.

It is clear the author knows his subject matter well, and this story is compelling. You will find this book is a quick read and you are left wishing there were at least one more chapter. Nick Santora does a credible job in this work, and if you have a tough enough constitution, you will truly enjoy it.

This is a guys’ book, all the way.
