Dear Readers,
Dae O’Donnell is the Mayor of Duck, North Carolina, a small town on the Outer Banks that caters mostly to tourists. Dae also has a gift, passed along by her female ancestors, for finding things that people lose in everyday life. Most of the time this gift leads her to lost jewelry, keys, etc. But, sometimes it leads to disaster.
Dae has planned to have a Mayor’s conference at the Blue Whale Inn, owned by her significant other and the party is about to start when there is a severe storm that was not expected blowing in off the Atlantic. It’s a very harrowing experience and by morning there is such a mess that no one is allowed to leave as the roads are impassable and there is no water or electricity. The Mayor of a nearby town, Sandi Foxx, has come up missing and the locals are looking for her. Dae finds a ring on the floor and gets a vision of someone pointing a gun at Sandi. Subsequently, Sandi’s body shows up soon in the tool shed of the Inn and is called an accident at first because the shed blew over on her. It is found that Sandi was murdered and that sets Dae to looking for the culprit. As the Inn was full of local and visiting politicians, it will not be easy to solve this one.
This is an excellent mystery that keeps you guessing until the last page. And, speaking of the last page, the authors are setting readers up for the next installment. Personally, I can’t wait to read it.
