Jake King and his family are once again after the bad guys. His father started King Fugitive Apprehension when life on the police force no longer thrilled him. They have worked many cases and just recently have been helping take down one of the biggest crime lords the world has ever seen. Jake’s father has been contacted by a private investigator whose daughter Angela happens to be undercover with a major player in this game. Jake volunteers to be her backup and help guard her from getting in too deep. Jake doesn’t realize just how far he’ll take his bodyguard role until he meets Angela. She is like no other woman he has ever met and the attraction is so deep, he’s willing to give up his playboy lifestyle to be with her.

Angela Torres and her father are very successful private investigators and have gotten a big break on a major crime lord. Angela has successfully planted herself in this man’s entourage and plans on taking him down no matter how long she has to play being his woman. Angela’s father has sent backup for her but she doesn’t want some hulky bodyguard getting in the way of taking down this crime lord. She especially doesn’t want him in the way when she finds herself attracted to the captivating Jake King. Having him near is a major distraction and she must keep her cool in order to get her job done.

Angela realizes that the bad guys have kidnapped someone close to her and stubbornly realizes she needs Jake’s help. The two must learn to work together and keep their growing attraction under wraps in order to bring the bad guys down and rescue her loved one.

Ms. O’Clare has once again delivered a superb addition to her Bounty Hunters series. Jake and Angela’s love story blazes with the turn of the page. They are both stubborn and fiery but meld together beautifully. Jake King is definitely a woman’s kind of man with his rugged good looks, his sure confidence and his passion for bringing down the bad guys. Angela doesn’t miss a beat either. She is strong willed, passionate about her work but still feminine. The mystery that these two fight their way through is an explosive, fast-paced thrill ride that will leave you hanging to the edge of your seat to the very end. Having read this at break neck speed, I eagerly await the next book in the series.
