Marshall Rhett Armstrong was widely known to be an upstanding, tough, no-nonsense kind of lawman, feared by some, avoided by others. Until Jenny Higgins came to town.
Trouble followed Jenny whether she was looking for it or not. Jenny had a one track mind in finding suitable husbands for her sisters. Sheís not sure Rocky Creek is the right place but you could find suitable husbands almost anywhere as long as you had Miss Abigail Jenkinsí book "The Complete and Authoritative Manual for Attracting & Procuring a Husband".
Through all the trouble that Jenny finds and Rhett tries to rescue her from they are attracted to each other. But each is suffering from a past neither has been able to shake. Rhett believes God forgives but canít forgive himself for things that happened during the war. Jennyís not sure God is around. After their parents died she had to do things she just as soon forget to keep her and her sisters alive. No man would want her now.
Can Jenny find just the right husbands for her sisters or do they have someone else in mind? Will Jenny believe that the right suitor will want her, in spite of her past? Will Rhett be able to let the past go and feel true forgiveness? Can God convince both Rhett and Jenny that He has the best plan for them? AND what does MISS Abigail Jenkins know about men?!
Ms Brownley has penned another truly delightful story full of a rainbow of emotions from laughter to tears; has developed characters that come to life if only in your imagination; and has weaved just the right amount of inspiration that will give you food for thought. What more could a reader ask?
Rocky Creek is a great place to visit, take the time to make the journey, youíll be glad you did!
P.S. Another group of visitors has arrived in Rocky Creek that Iím sure weíll meet in the not too distant future! I canít wait for my next trip!
