Nancy Sebastian Meyer is a certified personality trainer who struggled a bit in her own marriage until she realized one important factor—she and her husband saw, processed, thought and lived things differently. Isn’t it amazing that no matter how long we are with someone we think they should know who we are?

Nancy took a very complex issue and broke it down into very manageable discussion topics. She looks at the personality types and how that works within a marriage. She looks at how different people think and how to anticipate each other. Finally she looks at the love languages we each operate within.

Now, if you are someone who studies a lot of self-help books, there really isn’t anything you have read before—whether personal or in the marriage. But what is really nice about this book is that it is a great starter book for a couple who wants to begin the process of working on their marriage. My husband and I have done a number of studies in the past and found this one to be light hearted and yet thought provoking. The questions may seem superficial until you really start thinking about them and discussing them together.

One thing we wish we had done differently was to have two books so that we could read them at the same time—a chapter at a time—and mark them up, before and after the discussions.
