Eliza Jane Carter arrives in the small town of Gardiner, Texas with
her chaperon and a great zeal for her cause of women's suffrage. The
sheriff of Gardiner assigns his deputy, Will Martinson, to keep an eye
on Eliza. Will, who is also the doctor, is happy to oblige since he is
attracted to Eliza. Unfortunately, Eliza has a tendency to get into
predicaments, which Will has to help her out of.
Ms. Stacey pens an endearing historical romance with quirky, but loveable characters. After she was divorced by her husband, Eliza has trouble trusting a man. While helping Eliza out of her scrapes, Will, slowly, finds his way past her defenses and gains her trust. Taming Eliza Jane is a great western historical romance with many humorous scenes and memorable characters. I highly recommend it.
