Skye Marston has been put in a very awkward position. Her father manages a hotel for Cyril Antonakos who just happens to be a very wealthy, powerful Greek tycoon. Unfortunately, he has gotten himself in a bit of a bind by "borrowing" money from the company books and has now been found out. He approaches his faithful daughter to help him out of this situation and because her mother is terribly ill, Skye feels a bit cornered.

What can be so bad, you ask? Well, her father has basically "promised" Skye’s hand in marriage to Cyril who wants to produce an heir. Skye isn’t ready for marriage and even if she were she had never dreamed of marrying someone she didn’t love – not to mention someone older than her own father. But her weakness is her love for her mother and Skye knows with every fiber of her being that if she says no to this "proposal" her father will go to jail which would kill her mother.

As she struggles with her dilemma she finds herself wandering into a London night club where a couple of "gentlemen" are just sure she is looking to have some fun. Theo steps in as her knight. They weren’t looking for each other because they really weren’t each others type. However, once away from the club, they quickly discover the electrical current running between them is almost overwhelming.

Skye decides she is entitled to her first time with a man being with someone who makes her heart race and that she needs this one last night of freedom before fulfilling her father’s request. Her condition on the evening is first names only and it is over at dawn. She sneaks out at dawn with her memories to sustain her.

The trip to Helikos was uneventful however she was getting more nervous as the wedding approached. She knew she couldn’t say no but saying yes was almost too much to bear. She tried taking her mind off the events unfolding by keeping busy and one way was swimming in the wonderful pool outside the home. Imagine her emotions (because there were so many) when she got out of the pool and Theo was standing there.

Her complicated life just got more so.

Kate Walker is a great writer with a wonderfully creative mind and method of speaking. Her dialogues are down to earth and easy flowing and as always The Antonakos Marriage is no different.

The love Skye felt for her parents is evident in everything she does especially through her worrying for her mother. Theo is the knight in shining armor we all imagine as little girls (and even as we grow up :-) ) who will gallop through our lives and take us away from all that is wrong. He is masculine and yet sensitive; compassionate and passionate. What more could you want in a hero??

Then, of course, there is Cyril. Even though we don’t really meet him in any depth (he wanders through), he quickly becomes the character you love to hate. Can’t say I care much for Skye’s father either. The rest of the story pretty much focused on the relationship growing between Skye and Theo and gaining each other’s trust and love.

One thing I had to wonder about though. I loved the story and found it very enjoyable to read but in today’s world would something like this really happen? Would my father try to get me to marry one of his counterparts? Would I do it? Makes you think…
