Charles Friedman has the best of both worlds. He has a wonderful family that consists of his lovely wife Karen and two teenagers, Alex and Samantha. Charles has what many would consider a dream job. He is a financial investor and owns Harbor Investments. He invests millions and billions for high profile people, which include some questionable dealings with off-shore accounts.

Charles’s life takes a turn for the worse. Trying to cover up some major losses, he finds himself owing unscrupulous people a sum of five hundred million dollars. Seeing no other way out, he fakes his death in a subway explosion. Charles obviously didn’t anticipate them going after his wife and kids, though.

After reviewing footage of the explosion a year later, Karen learns Charles isn’t dead after all. With the help of detective Ty Hauck, they unravel a money fraud scheme as well as murders which are all connected to Charles.

Charles, thinking he’s keeping a very low profile, is unaware that Karen and Ty are aware of where he’s hiding. Unfortunately for him, Karen and Ty lead two hit men straight to him.

As the plot unravels layer after layer there are still more surprises to keep the reader guessing and turning the pages. The author’s descriptions of the people, places and events are vivid. At times you feel as if you’ve stepped into the pages of the book, that’s how vivid these descriptions are.

The Dark Tide has it all; adventure, mystery and romance all into one. It’s a gripping, fast-paced, edge of the seat read.
