Paul Levine does it again leaving no room for disappointment in the Solomon Vs. Lord sequel, The Deep Blue Alibi.

This time, Steve and Victoria take on an even bigger case than in the first book. This time it’s personal. Victoria’s Uncle Grif is accused of murdering a man who holds the key to his successful new adventure. A floating hotel and casino. Ironically the man is killed on Grif’s boat but he has no recollection of how it happened.

Even Steve has a personal mission going on. He is trying to get his father, Herbert Solomon, reinstated as a judge. Steve must find out why his father does not want him to pursue the idea.

Throughout the book the reader is given numerous reasons and alibis for each suspect. This was a key element in that it kept me reading. I just had to find out if I was right and where I had to backtrack to rethink.

There are other issues going on involving the main characters and it helped develop a "character image". I could see the characters and imagine the things happening to them as if I were there.

The author’s descriptions of life and landscape of the Florida Keys and its surrounding area make the characters stand out even more as I envisioned them in each scenario of events.

As in the first book, Paul Levine’s knowledge of the law is evident in every twist and turn the story takes. He is what every author of legal suspense should want to be.

I am anticipating the arrival of his next installment with Steve and Victoria with high expectations.
