Nikki Quinn belongs to a very interesting…shall we say…club called "The Sisterhood." Now originally Nikki only became involved in the club as an objective observer and to give legal opinions. However, her role has greatly increased especially since this time their project is hers. What project? Well, that is where "The Sisterhood" gets interesting. They are a group of females who are out to correct an injustice but only an injustice for something that one of them feels passionate about – whether something personal or just an issue she might feel strongly about.

It is Nikki’s turn to pick the project but she is in a real quandary as to what to pick. Then again, Nikki is at a real loss on how to manage anything in her life right now. However, even after taking an extended "rest" period, Nikki doesn’t have a clue on what her project should be. That is until she discovers a lawyer she hired to work in her firm got involved in some very iffy legal actions while Nikki was resting.

The biggest project Nikki would like solved, however, isn’t a legal issue – it is her heart missing Jack Emery. Jack is one of the good guys and when The Sisterhood got more involved things with Jack had to go on the back burner (especially since he is investigating them). Boy does she miss him, however. So, when this new project takes some interesting turns and when the abused wife of a Washington official lands in Nikki’s lap, their paths cross again. This could get real interesting.

Fern Michaels really strings a number of different stories together to create The Jury. One story is Nikki’s life itself. She is struggling to be at the top of her game but her game overtakes her and she is facing burn out. I am sure most readers can relate to losing their focus and needing some time to step back. I loved how Nikki detached but she can back with more strength and vigor than she had at the top of her game.

There, of course, is the story of "The Sisterhood" itself. Now the one downside is I felt a little like there were some pieces to this group that I didn’t quite get with this story but I am sure I could go and gather more info in the other books about these women. These women have a great deal of strength and passion within them. I am not sure I could go to the lengths they do but I have sure thought about it.

Then there is the story of Nikki and Jack. These two people love each other deeply but their lives seem to always be getting in between them. I admire the fact that they didn’t sugar coat why they shouldn’t be together and what the obstacles were that they faced.
