Eve Garrett is the only female on the elite force making up E.D.E.N. Security. Although her brothers (who make up the other three members of the team) were all members of elite military forces, Eve is no slouch herself. Once, she was a highly decorated member of the Secret Service including being on the detail for the Vice President and his family.

However, Jeremy Clayborne is a ranking civilian with military connections along with high levels of politicians listed as his friends. So, when he begins getting threats against his daughter while working on a government contract, Jeremy wastes no time in getting assistance from the Secret Service, namely Eve. However, the detail didn’t go as planned and he showed his displeasure by getting her resignation asked for by the Service. Now, she is a member of the security team although she still counts the daughter she protected as her friend.

So, when Tiffany is missing, Eve is the only person who seems to be really concerned. Her father can’t even be bothered by it. When Jeremy’s assistant feels Eve is going to create a stink, he hires Tyler "Mac" McClain to find Tiffany with explicit instructions to stay away from Eve.

Eve and Mac have a past though, which makes keeping their distance an impossibility. As they rediscover each other, they also discover a line of danger they hadn’t anticipated. Finding Tiffany and staying alive should prove very interesting!

What can I say but way to go, Cindy. To The Limit is more than I could have hoped for. I had set my expectation high after reading the first in the story about Eve’s brother, Nolan. In spite of this standard, though, I was really surprised by this book.

Cindy’s use of words creates a picture in the reader’s mind, which is hard to beat. She very effectively describes the characters – both in their physical make up and also in their thought processes. As you read through the discussions (or arguments some would say), you easily find yourself thinking on one hand, Mac is right and then on the other hand, Eve is right. The set up of the scenes to which the characters plays is quite effective and the map created by the terms reflects well against those scenes.

The only negative aspect I can point out is one scene in the book, which takes you to a locale, which is a bit erotic – and not in a positive way. The "club" is not out of character with what is happening in the story AND it is very, very brief. Please don’t let this stop you from reading To The Limit because it is just too good to miss.

My closing comment is while I had predicted one aspect of the final mystery plot the majority of it took me completely by surprise which doesn’t happen to me very often. Incredibly well done and one I highly recommend. (I am in the middle of moving from one state to another and I actually took breaks from unpacking boxes just to read this book!!) Enjoy!
