This book is very fast-paced with a lot of action. A fun read for fans of scrapbooking and cozies. The book is set in New Orleans, which is spooky to start with and has the atmosphere of a city that is not of this world.
Carmella Bertrand is the owner of Memory Mine Scrapingbooking Shop and her best friend, Ava Gruiex, is owner of Juju Voodoo. The two of them have a very large plan before them. Melody Mayfeldt is converting an old New Orleans mansion into a haunted house for the tourist trade who are interested in the creepy side of the Big Easy. Melody needs Carmella to help make Medusa Manor come to life or death, whichever the case may be in time for an upcoming horror convention. And, what a horror it turns out to be. Practically as soon as they begin their work Melody's body comes smashing down from a tower window and it wasn't an accident. Obviously, someone wanted the lady dead. Carmella is in too deep and tries to find out why this happened.
This book is a jewel. You readers will have a good time trying to solve the crime before Carmella does. The characters are very believable and the minor characters are very well developed. This still qualifies as a cozy mystery to me because it will scare you at times but will not terrify you. So, enjoy and I'll talk to you soon.
