Samantha Lewis had planned her life well. A job she could handle, a home that was comfortable and a man she was content with. Granted, it might not be fun or spontaneous or exciting, but everything was falling into place.
That is until just before the wedding when she discovered her perfectly picked man was enjoying his excitement on the side. This discovery is what led to the Venice honeymoon trip being taken by just the bride – no need to waste a good ticket, is there. However, being in this romantic city alone is really rather lonely even as Samantha tries to relax and enjoy it.
Temptation begins when a complete stranger treats her as if he knows her in a café. He seems dangerous but never has another person’s touch seemed so right, so complete, so exciting. Everything in her tells her to stay a part of the tour group she came with but for once in her life she tries being spontaneous.
Her choice leads to her becoming a part of the adventure surrounding Keirnan Fitzgerald who has come to Venice determined to rescue his sister from a kidnapping attempt. She was close to discovering the location of the Jewels of the Madonna and in order to free her, he must complete her work.
Samantha brings new clues to the table as they work together to solve this riddle but how can she explain to him that the clues are coming from dreams she is having of a time long ago?
I truly enjoyed the twists and turns Loucinda McGary built into The Treasures of Venice. The action was fast paced and edge-of-your seat excitement and the sexual tension between Kiernan and Samantha was tangible. Samantha is a woman who has been living a quiet life but yet yearning for more and this manuscript takes her to whole new levels with a hero who is incredibly dashing and powerful. The passion level is intense and the time travel in her dreams is flawless.
Really well done!
