A delightful read that makes the characters come to life. Sheryl is like so many women who feel they have to hide their femininity and sexuality to keep their careers, while under the surface simmers a sexual wildcat. She asks herself some touch questions about what makes marriages work and she wonders how to balance a blooming relationship with a demanding career.
I enjoyed the book and found Ms. Gearner’s descriptions of small town Texas life to paint a wonderful backdrop for the book. Her descriptions of the town and the people are so true to life, it’s like she was writing about the small towns in Texas I’ve been in. Ms. Gearner has a wonderful writing ability and I found the caliber of her book to match that of the large name publishing houses. I look forward to reading more books by this talented author.
