Morgan O’Malley is the host of a late night television chat show that looks at the sex and what turns people on. As part of her research for one of her topics, Morgan meets ‘Master J’ on an online chat room. She wants to interview him as part of the program. She is intrigued by his provocative words and they agree to meet to further her research,
‘Master J’ is actually Jack Cole, who believes in dominating the submissive. He is also in the personal security business. And fortunately for Morgan when the stalker that has been terrorizing her takes potshots at her in Jack’s presence. He instantly saves her, but from then on in Morgan is completely under his control. Jack’s ideas of trust, care and understanding are eye opening and life changing for Morgan. There is also a little matter of revenge Jack has and Morgan is the target to exact that revenge.
Hmmm…on the plus side of Wicked Ties I loved the opening sentence. It’s an attention grabber. The story started out slow and provocative and had me wondering what was going on, why was someone stalking Morgan and what were the plans the sexy Cajun called Jack has for her. Maybe it’s shades of the Big Easy, but there is something about a man that calls a woman ‘cher.’
On the whole though, I found Jack irritating and arrogant with all his need to be the ‘master’. Get a grip mate. As for Morgan, I get that she has repressed ‘fantasies’ but honest to god towards the end of the book I jut was sick of her and I really did not care what happened to either character.
Wicked Ties is flat out about sex, submission and domination. The book lost my interest with all the bondage and full blown sex. I personally can only read so much of this kind of book before I either start to laugh or shake my head in amazement. However, in saying all this I do not doubt for a second that fans of this bondage, ménage genre will love this book. And that’s what books are all about. Choice and freedom to choose.
