Lannes is a Gargoyle that has been living in semi seclusion for years. That is until he goes to Chicago to help his one and only true friend Frederick. While in Chicago Lannes has a run in with a bloody woman trying to break into his car. This woman cannot remember anything and brings a lot of trouble to Lannes. Trouble that Lannes finds out hits very close to home.

Lannes names the woman Lethe but finds out her real name is Alice and the great niece of the witch that held Lannes and his brothers captive in stone. Through the psychic connection Lannes and Lethe share, Lannes finds out that Lethe has no idea who Alice is or that she used to be her. Lannes also finds out that Lethe has another spirit living in her mind causing all of the trouble they are getting into. This spirit is what Lannes and Lethe need to get rid of not only to save Lethe's life but also so they can be together and start Lethe's new life and memories.

In the beginning Lannes's and Lethe's relationship is a pull and tug one. Where both feel something for one another but with Lanne's seclusion and Lethe's not remembering anything it makes it difficult for them both to believe in what is starting to build between them. When both do finally give it that is when they figure out that together they are the most powerful.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and found myself reading it until I could no longer stay awake. I would recommend this book to anyone who not only loves paranormal romance but also loves a mystery mixed in to keep you on the edge of your seat!
