Michael Sullivan is on the verge of creating his dream. He has envisioned the Sullivan Towers for years and he is finally within sight of his goal. He has merged with one of the leading Las Vegas Hotels and purchased the property adjacent which will facilitate the Towers being built. He has met with all of the operational folks at his new hotel, except one and she is coming in today. Geneva Porter is the events planner for this hotel and from what he has heard she can out-do any planner on the strip.
Geneva Porter isn’t all that thrilled to be meeting with Michael Sullivan. She is sure she is on her way to being let go in spite of her contract with the hotel. Now why should she be concerned especially since she is so good at the job she does? Well, along with being an events planner, she was once Michael fiancée and if that wasn’t bad enough, Geneva ended the relationship on the day they were to take their vows – literally leaving him at the altar.
Neither one of them has talked since that day so this first meeting should prove interesting. To Geneva’s surprise not only is she keeping her job but she will be planning the kick off event for the Towers AND Michael’s sister’s wedding. Keep in mind this is the same sister who was to be Geneva’s maid of honor. Michael swears this isn’t a vengeance thing but Geneva isn’t so sure.
Teresa Southwick has created an interesting dilemma here. If you are a business person do you get rid of the person best suited to aid your business because of personal issues or do you muddle through? As today’s world keeps getting smaller and smaller, I have to wonder how often these types of events arise and how the individuals handle them.
Now in this case, both individuals swear they are over it and are ready to move on. There is one key detail that keeps them bonded that they have yet to discuss. No, there isn’t a toddler to deal with but I will leave the detail for you to discover.
There is quite the level of maturity on the parts of both of these individuals. While they might not admit it to each other, when it came right down to it, neither one of them knew how they would handle the situation but they learned a lot about themselves in the process. One the key factors that Teresa points out both between Michael and Geneva and in the other relationships (such as Michael’s sister and Geneva) sometimes you truly have to stop and listen and look to "hear" what is really being said.
