Dear Readers:

It’s certainly not a surprise to say that Karen Rose has written yet another fantastic book filled with everything from suspense to romance, to a mystery that is absolutely bone-chilling. In fact, in the long list of Rose’s ‘on the edge of your seat’ thrill rides, this is one book that is certainly a keeper!

Here, the reader meets up with a stunning team. Once upon a time, in Baltimore, a young lady was beaten to a pulp and raped while people simply stood by and watched…because they just didn’t want to get involved. Now, every single one of these witnesses are being stalked and ending up quite dead themselves.

Now, Detective J.D. Fitzpatrick, who works for the Baltimore Police Department, has become embedded in this case - literally marching after a trail of violated people trying desperately to find the killer before the next person dies. This is not exactly a man who hasn’t seen his share of tragedies in the world. J.D. was actually in Afghanistan for a time, and watched complete and utter violence play out in the streets. Hopefully, that background of twisted sites will help J.D. to track down this hard-nosed criminal who seems to be on a mission to torture and kill…and settle a score that J.D. simply doesn’t understand.

His teammate on this one? Dr. Lucy Trask. Lucy is a medical examiner who is knee-deep in the tortured bodies that seem to be coming from all corners. Not only does Lucy have to deal every day with the fact that she could be on this killer’s list because of a more than dark secret she’s keeping from her friends and co-workers; but, she also finds herself wanting to get closer and closer to J.D. - simply because he has a loving, passionate side to him that Lucy would like to explore.

This book is fascinating. Each and every page is full of thrills and chills, as the reader is taken on a ride that delves into a killer’s mind; and are awarded a passionate love affair that could very well be "snuffed-out" before it even gets a chance to begin. Readers will love the characters!. And the plot - offered page by page and almost minute by minute - is absolutely riveting. Enjoy!

Until next time, Amy
