1/2 lb. butter
1 c.  sugar
1 T Karo Syrup
1/4 c. water
Slivered almonds
Chocolate chips
1 t. vanilla before pouring into pan

Boil to the first four ingredients together in a deep saucepan until 
it reaches hard ball stage. Add the vanilla once you remove it from 
the heat. Pour the mixture over slivered almonds on buttered pan and 
let it start to cool. Before it gets too cool, spread the chocolate 
chips on top. Smooth out the chips as they melt. 

You can put slivered/crushed almonds on top or leave plain.
