Once Upon A Romance

The Rest of Our Stories...

Hello, Dear Readers, my name is Amy and I live in the beautiful Land of Enchantment with my daughter Shelby and my wonderful dog, Reuben. I was born in Connecticut and worked as the Editor-in-Chief for a publisher in the Litchfield Hills but, after realizing that I detested snow, I migrated to New Mexico and have never been happier.

My mother is a career librarian and I credit her with the wonder and enjoyment I have for reading and writing books. My personal favorites are historical and suspense novels but, honestly, I mostly enjoy really good writing. You can visit me at www.amylignor.zoomshare.com.

Hi, I’m Connie. I’ve loved to read for as long as I can remember. Ordering books from Troll and Scholastic in grade school was a highlight for me.

Another memory were the summers. We were lucky enough to live fairly close to a library so when I was older I was able to walk there. Over the years I think I checked out almost every children's/young adult book they had at the time. (Years and years ago) It seemed as if they couldn't get new books in fast enough for me to read!

Romance books came into play in my early teen years with the young adult books, you know, the ones with the girls in high school where they were just beginning to date and had parties with flavored pop and records on the phonograph down in the rec room. Then later in my teens, my first two adult romance books I read were Danielle Steel’s The Promise and The Ring. It was also around that time some of the Harlequin's were introduced to me. If I wasn't hooked before, I was hooked then.

Now my reading tastes have expanded to include mystery, inspirational, historical and contemporary romance . Like many readers, there are still a few genres that aren't my favorites. Perhaps that will change with time...As reading is such a subjective thing, we each like something different or look for something different, I hope you've come to trust my reviews. With every book, every review, I find myself hoping I've helped at least one reader.

Hi there, my name is Debbie and I’m a recent transplant to Durham, NC from Seattle, WA. I’m a recruiter for an employment agency and a student working towards my Bachelors degree in Business Management. My plan is to get my Masters degree in Human Resources, but for a while now I have been tossing the idea of journalism around instead.

I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. I couldn’t get enough of Judy Blume’s books, and as scandalous as the Flowers in the Attic series was, I read it numerous times. Now I’m partial to less disturbing stories, but I still have the same passion for reading.

Romance novels are a newer interest for me, and I tend to enjoy historical, paranormal, and romantic comedy, but I will read almost anything. I’m excited to share my love of reading and to hopefully give readers some new authors and stories to enjoy!

Gidday!...My name is Janet, I live in the great Down Under – Australia – the best place on earth, but of course I may be a tad biased.

I enjoy being a book reviewer as it combines two of my favourite past times -– reading and giving my opinion. I'll read anything. I love books. My mother, a strong, wonderful woman, was a great believer in introducing children to the world of books. And, ask me for an opinion and I'll give it to you.

I am pleased to report I am getting four books of my own published. So, if you feel you have a book in you, go ahead, write that book. Everybody has a story - so why not tell it? You never know who may be interested.

Greetings, my name is Lori. My earliest memories include reading books and it has been a life long passion for me. I am married (20+ years to the same wonderful man), have three teenage children, and provide care for two animals. In spite of or maybe because of them and living in seven states, along with visiting five countries, during those 20+ years, reading continues to be not only my passion but my escape. I have worked in numerous careers during those years (including time in a library to get closer to books) but reading is my constant.

My current "day" job is working part time as an accountant and part time as a romance editor for an east coast publisher. I can’t say I have a favorite genre as I will read just about anything I can get my hands on. There is value in just about every book created and each of them has something to share with us. I love working with the great authors with Once Upon a Romance and welcome hearing from you, the reader.

My name is Marlene, and I love to read. I read all genres of romance, science fiction, and some mysteries. I enjoy researching my genealogy, and reading historical non-fiction books, as well. I'm owned by four cats and a dog. Well, the cats own me; the dog usually does what I tell her. My favorite book is PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, and I watch the A&E production of it about every 3 months. I really enjoy reviewing and hope my reviews are helpful.

Hi, I'm Robyn. I'm married to a wonderful husband who allowed/insisted I stay home to raise the children. (My lifelong dream come true!) Since leaving the workforce when our first child was born, our family has grown to include two boys and a girl.

Books have been a real passion in my life as long as I can remember. I remember always getting top awards for the most books read during Summer Reading Club at the library. I raised all kinds of money in read-a-thons for charity and now we try to instill that love of books into our children as well. My husband and I remind everyone that our kids don't need more toys---but books are not a toy. Now their bookshelves overflow, just like mine.

I'm was thrilled to find this site and become a reviewer. After all, I think reviewing books is the greatest job ever because you get to read books and tell people your opinion. Beyond that---they tend to listen to your opinion (unlike my kids on certain days). :-) Does life get better than this?

Hi, my name is Trudy. I remember reading in grade school. Getting to go to the school or public library was an enjoyable treat. I remember choosing the "Betsy" books and I also read most of the Nancy Drew Mystery books as my sister and I collected them. Later on in my teen years I read gothic mysteries. Looking back, I wonder what the draw was to that genre but there must have been something there. For years I've been reading various types of romance. Recently my favorite reading is Historical Romance, mostly Harlequin Historical. I enjoy a story where the author leaves something to the imagination.

I hope my reviews give an honest review to guide readers to read the same books I have the great opportunity to read.

Trudy
