Flo's Bodice Ripping Brownies

Pre-heat oven to 375
Grease a 9x13 inch rectangular pan (AKA the "lasagna pan")

2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar (can use one cup brown, one cup white)
4 eggs
1 cup flour (and no, whole wheat does NOT work even
though it's healthier)
2 teaspoons baking soda
pinch salt (yes, it sounds kinky or rather like Italian male behavior,
but do it anyway)
4 squares (4 ounces) of unsweetened chocolate (Baker's is best)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

Optional - cup of nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, or walnuts - use walnuts and
get those omega-six healthy things!)
Optional - dash of Kahlua

Mix butter and sugar till smooth. Add eggs and beat the fool of the mix.
Sift flour, soda, salt, then add and mix. Add melted squares of chocolate
(double boiler or microwave melted - makes no difference), vanilla. Mix,
then add chocolate chips and any of the optional ingredients depending on
how far you want your bodice to rip.

I personally do all this by had rather than using a mixer - burns more
calories for me that way.

Pour into greased pan, and bake for 30 minutes. Test with knife. You want
"clean" but not dry. A bit gooey is okay. (Especially when you
toss a brownie or two into a bowl with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream,
chocolate sauce and more nuts - with a cherry on top)

The recipe is easily halved - but who wants to?
