Calico Bars

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

any cake mix (I use Red Velvet)
1 egg
1/3 c. oil

Blend above three ingredients until crumbly.  Save out 1 c. for topping.
Pat the rest in the bottom of a greased/sprayed 9X13 pan and bake 15 
minutes.

Meanwhile, mix:
8 oz. softened cream cheese
1 egg
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/3 c. sugar

Spread this on hot crust.  Sprinkle with M&M baking pieces, the reserved
1 c. crumble mixture, and then more chips and press the toppings lightly 
into the cream cheese mixture.

Bake another 15 minutes, until toothpick in the center comes out clean.

Note:  You can use chocolate chips, coconut, nuts, etc. in this recipe.

Freezes well--and the varieties are limited only by your imagination!
