1 pound ground beef 1/4 c. olive or salad oil __________________________ญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญ___________________________________________ Sauce: 1/2 c. chopped onion dash pepper 1 garge clove garlic, minced 2 T. chopped parley 2 - 6 oz. cans tomato paste 4 tsp. basil 2 c. water 1 tsp. aniseed (optional) 1 1/2 tsp. salt ______________________________________________________________________ Stuffing: 3/4 pound or 16 oz. Ricotta cheese 8 oz. pkg. Mozzarella cheese 1/2 c. grated Romano or Parmesean cheese 1 beaten egg 2 T. chopped parsley 1/4 tsp. salt dash pepper ______________________________________________________________________ 8 oz. manicotti grated Romano or Paremsean cheeseBrown meat lightly in hot oil. Add all 9 sauce ingredients. Simmer uncovered about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine all 7 stuffing ingredients together. Stuff uncooked manicotti noodles. Pour half the meat sauce into an 11 x 7 x 1 1/2" baking dish. Arrange stuffed manicotti in a layer. Top with remaining sauce and 1 cup water. Sprinkle with Romano or Parmesean cheese. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 6-8 servings
