Taffy Apple Salad

1 can pineapple tidbits 		1 1/2 T. white vinegar 
2 c. miniature marshmallows 		1 (12-16oz.) carton Cool Whip 
1/2 c. sugar 				2 c. diced, unpeeled apples 
1 T. flour 				1 1/2 c. cocktail peanuts 
1 egg, beaten				(pecans are great too!) 

Drain pineapple and save juice. Combine pineapple and marshmallows; refrigerate over night. Combine in pan; sugar, flour, egg, pineapple juice and vinegar. Heat until thick, or the consistency of custard. About 1 hour before serving, combine custard mixture, pineapple and marshmallow mixture, and Cool Whip. Add peanuts and apples. Serves 6-8.
